We are seeking an Analytical Sciences Group Leader – Clinical Chemistry to lead a first-shift analytical team supporting clinical testing activities. This role is ideal for a scientifically driven leader who enjoys staying close to the bench while developing talent, managing workflows, and maintaining high standards of data quality and cGMP compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory & Technical Responsibilities
Perform benchtop testing of large molecules using HPLC and UPLC methodologiesEnsure accurate execution, documentation, and review of analytical assays using GDP and cGMP guidelinesCollect, process, and evaluate raw analytical dataUtilize LIMS for sample tracking, data documentation, and result reportingConduct peer review of analytical procedures and processed dataCollaborate with reviewers and authorizers to resolve documentation issues or coordinate retestingMaintain laboratory notebooks, logbooks, and electronic documentation systemsManage laboratory supplies, reagents, and inventoryParticipate in laboratory safety walkthroughs and compliance inspectionsComplete all required safety, procedural, and regulatory trainingLeadership & Team Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analytical scientistsCoordinate team workload, scheduling, and daily prioritiesManage cross-training initiatives to ensure adequate coverage and team flexibilityMonitor and report productivity, quality, and performance metricsCommunicate proactively and effectively with client-facing and internal partner teamsSupport hiring, onboarding, and training of new team membersDeliver technical and procedural training within the departmentParticipate in overtime and weekend scheduling as business needs requireConduct routine employee compliance checks and safety observations Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience)Minimum 2 years of cGMP experienceHands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC instrumentation and troubleshootingExperience with quantitative liquid chromatography data analysisFamiliarity with LIMS or electronic data management systemsStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and scientific documentation practicesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environmentAuthorization to work in the United States without sponsorship What to Expect in the Hiring Process:
