About this role
This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination of freight with carriers for Canada to USA, USA to Canada and Inter-Canada shipments and tracking and tracing shipments.
Responsibilities:
-Tracking and Tracing shipments with various carriers
-Entering loads and customer service required
-Assisting logistics coordinators
-Establishing business relationship and developing carriers by matching our laneways with their needs.
-Negotiating rates with carriers to successfully book loads or to close a deal by being cost effective and maintaining our service standards.
-Communicating with customers via phone or e-mail to provide updates or to respond to their inquiries.
-Order entry along with on-time tracking and tracing of all shipments.
-Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
-Some afterhours tracking and tracing may be involved.
Requirements:
-Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task.
-Strong communication skills, comfortable being on the phone with customers and carriers.
-Must demonstrate problem-solving and creative solution skills.
-Ability to work autonomously and with little direction.
-Must be a team player committed to maintaining desired service levels
