About this role

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk / Administrator to join our client's team in Barrie, Ontario. This is a full-time, permanent position working fully on-site, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting payroll processing, employee records management, and administrative functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced payroll and administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced office environment, enjoys working with numbers, and takes pride in accuracy and confidentiality. Pay: Starting at approximately $24.00 per hour, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications. What You'll Do • Process payroll accurately and on schedule. • Review employee timesheets, attendance records, and payroll data for accuracy. • Maintain employee payroll records and update information as required. • Assist with payroll remittances, deductions, benefits administration, and government reporting. • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a professional and timely manner. • Prepare payroll reports, summaries, and supporting documentation. • Support onboarding and offboarding administration, including employee paperwork and record management. • Maintain confidential employee files and ensure compliance with company policies and legislation. • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other administrative tasks as needed. • Coordinate office documentation, filing, data entry, and general clerical duties. • Support management with reporting, scheduling, and other administrative projects. • Ensure payroll processes and administrative procedures are completed accurately and efficiently. What We're Looking For • Previous payroll processing experience is required. • Experience in an administrative, office support, or payroll-related role. • Strong understanding of payroll practices, deductions, and employment standards. • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work. • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
