Family Treatment Centre Full-Time / Weekdays & Weekends / Shiftwork / Start ASAP Susan Ulmer Addiction Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Child Care Worker to support children and families participating in residential addiction treatment. This role provides safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate care to infants, toddlers, and children while their parents participate in treatment programming. Key Responsibilities: Provide attentive and age-appropriate care in a safe, structured environment. Supervise children during play, meals, rest periods, and activities. Respond to emotional and behavioural needs using trauma-informed and culturally respectful approaches. Assist with activities that support learning, creativity, and social development. Support healthy parent-child relationships and family-centred programming. Communicate with parents and collaborate with counsellors, therapists, outreach workers, and program staff. Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and required documentation. Follow safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and professional boundaries. Qualifications: Certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience working with children in childcare, family services, or community settings. Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and family-centred practice. Experience working with First Nation families or diverse cultural communities is an asset. Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism. CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
