*Duties*
* Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling fur according to breed standards and owner preferences. * Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention. * Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. * Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming options, pet care tips, and any observed health concerns. * Handle pets safely and compassionately during grooming sessions, ensuring their comfort throughout the process. * Manage scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate records for each pet groomed.
*Skills*
* Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners and address their needs. * Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or multiple pets during grooming sessions. * Proficiency in using grooming tools such as clippers, scissors, brushes, and bathing equipment. * Attention to detail to ensure high-quality grooming results that meet both client expectations and breed standards. * Patience and compassion when working with animals of varying temperaments and behaviors. * Knowledge of pet health and hygiene practices is a plus but not required; training will be provided as needed.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum 1 year of professional grooming experience preferred. * Certification in grooming (an asset, but not required). * Strong knowledge of breed-specific styles and coat types. * Comfortable handling dogs (and ideally cats too). * Patient, gentle, and great with both pets and people. * Pet First Aid certified is a plus.
