About this role
Nanaimo Foodshare is a well-established charity working to improve access to affordable, nutritious food and food knowledge in our community. We are seeking an *experienced Grant Writer* to support our programs by securing funding from foundations and government sources.
Responsibilities:
-Become familiar with the granting cycle and potential funding opportunities
-Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications
-Write and submit grant proposals to secure funding for various projects and programs
-Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather necessary information for grant applications including budgets and financial reports for grant proposals
-Track and report on the progress of funded projects to grantors
-Stay updated on current trends and best practices in grant writing
-Responsible meet deadlines in an organized way
Qualifications:
-
* Minimum *3 years of grant writing experience* in a non-profit setting * Strong writing, research, and organizational skills * Ability to meet multiple deadlines * Willingness to work *on-site in Nanaimo* * Knowledge of local non-profits and funding sources is an asset
