The hours per week can be 12 to 24 hours per week depending on the businesses needs. This position will start as part-time but can definitely turn into a permanent full-time position in the future depending on your work ethic and sales skills.
*Position Summary*
Bombay Collection is looking for an energetic, highly outgoing, and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a busy retail environment, and is comfortable performing both sales and physical store duties. This role requires a strong personality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to assist with inventory handling, merchandising, and store maintenance.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Sales & Customer Service*
* Greet every customer warmly and create a welcoming shopping experience. * Assist customers in selecting Indian clothing, bridal wear, jewelry, and accessories. * Build rapport with customers and provide personalized styling recommendations. * Actively promote products, sales, and special offers. * Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system. * Help achieve individual and store sales goals.
*Store Operations*
* Receive, unpack, and organize incoming shipments. * Stock merchandise and maintain organized inventory areas. * Steam, tag, organize, and prepare merchandise for display. * Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the sales floor, fitting rooms, and stockroom. * Assist with merchandising displays and seasonal store setups. * Conduct inventory counts and assist with stock management.
*Physical Duties*
* Lift, carry, push, and move boxes, garment bags, bridal outfits, and merchandise throughout the day. * Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to *30 lbs (13.6 kg)*. * Safely climb and descend ladders up to *10 feet high* while carrying merchandise weighing up to *30 lbs*. * Move and reposition retail display racks, clothing racks, fixtures, and merchandise displays as needed. * Stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout an entire shift.
*Qualifications*
*Required*
* Extremely outgoing, friendly, and approachable personality. * Must speak fluent Punjabi * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Must be talkative, confident, and comfortable initiating conversations with customers. * Previous retail sales experience. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Reliable, punctual, and motivated. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
*Assets (Preferred but Not Required)*
* Experience working in fashion retail. * Knowledge of Indian clothing, bridal wear, sarees, lehengas, salwar suits, jewelry, and current fashion trends. * Experience with Shopify POS or other retail point-of-sale systems.
*Physical Requirements*
* Ability to frequently lift and carry up to *30 lbs*. * Ability to safely use ladders up to *10 feet in height*. * Ability to move retail racks, fixtures, and inventory displays. * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. * Ability to perform repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.

You are someone who loves talking to people, enjoys fashion, is not afraid of physical work, and takes pride in providing excellent customer service. You bring positive energy to the sales floor, can confidently engage customers, and are willing to help wherever needed to keep the store running smoothly. Knowledge of Indian fashion and bridal wear is a strong advantage.
