Weston Construction Alberta is seeking *experienced Carpenters* to join our team on a *major infrastructure project in Edmonton, Alberta*.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled carpenters looking for *local work in Edmonton*, competitive wages, and the opportunity to gain valuable experience working on a large-scale infrastructure project.
*This is a local Edmonton position ? employees can work on the project and return home every night. No camp or rotational work is required.*
Successful candidates will work alongside experienced construction professionals on a large and complex infrastructure project, providing an excellent opportunity to expand their experience in *heavy civil construction, concrete, formwork, and major infrastructure work*.
Responsibilities
* Perform general carpentry duties on a major infrastructure construction project. * Build, install, modify, and dismantle concrete formwork. * Perform rough carpentry and structural carpentry activities as required. * Assist with concrete pours, including preparation, placement, and stripping of forms. * Install and construct walls, bulkheads, curbs, slabs, foundations, and other concrete structures. * Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layouts. * Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials accurately. * Work with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. * Coordinate with foremen, supervisors, equipment operators, labourers, and other trades. * Maintain productivity while meeting project quality requirements. * Follow all project safety procedures, policies, and site requirements. * Participate in toolbox meetings, hazard assessments, and daily work planning. * Maintain a clean and organized work area. * Perform other carpentry and construction-related duties as required.
Qualifications
* Previous carpentry experience in commercial, industrial, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction. * *Journeyperson Carpenter certification is considered an asset but is not required for all positions.* * Strong concrete formwork experience is highly valued. * Experience working with gang forms, walls, foundations, slabs, curbs, and other concrete structures is an asset. * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. * Comfortable working outdoors in an active construction environment. * Ability to safely use hand and power tools. * Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship. * Ability to work effectively as part of a large construction team. * Strong commitment to workplace safety. * Reliable transportation to the project site in Edmonton.
