Overview: We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial aspects of the organization and play a key role in strategic decision-making. The Company is growing and currently operates 5 nursing homes between PEI and NB. This is a Monday - Friday 8am-4pm in-person position at our Charlottetown location, with occasional travel to NB.
Responsibilities: · Support the operations of the Companies by providing accurate financial and related information, reporting, and analysis for stakeholders: management, shareholders, lenders and other parties as required. · Coordinate/supervise the accounting functions for the Companies, including:
o Payroll and benefit processing o Accounts receivable o Accounts Payable o General Ledger entries o Posting payroll to financials o Posting adjusting entries o Reconciliation of all bank accounts o Month end entries o Internal auditing o Preparation of Quarterly and Annual Financial Statements
· Support the annual audit process by working closely with the auditors. · Preparation and submission of all required information to lender · Responsibility and oversight of company health plans, pension plans, insurance plans · Prepare annual budgets for lender and leadership team · Maintain the daily cash-flow plan for each company · Provide analysis in support of business decision making · Ensure lender?s financial covenants are monitored and discrepancies escalated to CFO for resolution. · Provide budget variance analysis to the leadership team · Assist in labour and government negotiations and relations · Maintain corporate registrations. · Assist in HR management of accounting team: coaching, supervision, performance reviews, etc · Other duties as assigned/required
Experience: The successful candidate should possess the following skills: - Proven work experience in a similar role - Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures - Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) - Strong analytical skills for account analysis and budgeting - Hands-on experience with accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliation - Excellent leadership and organizational skills - Strong Audit and payroll experience

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
