Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has responsibility to continuously monitor, investigate, and report on natural hazards such as earthquakes and space weather events that occur in Canada and operates seismic, geodetic, and space weather monitoring stations across Canada in this capacity. The findings and alerts contribute to the safety of Canadians and critical infrastructure operations.NRCan, through the Canadian Hazards Information Service (CHIS), is looking to support operation of these monitoring stations by adding members to an existing national-scale Field Operations team. This role encompasses a wide range of tasks including the design, construction, and operation of electronic equipment and geophysical monitoring instruments at remote stations throughout Canada, including the northernmost regions, as well as overseas.
