Administrative Assistant - Planning and Community ServicesAUXILIARY$34.65 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefitsThe District is inviting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Planning and Community Services Department. The position is a full-time auxiliary appointment and is anticipated to continue for approximately eight (8) months, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Community Services, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the department and serves as a primary public contact for inquiries relating to development, building inspection, and planning. Key responsibilities include: Providing administrative and clerical support related to development applications and planning processes; Responding to public inquiries and providing information related to planning, development, and building inspection matters; Preparing correspondence, documents, and other departmental materials; Maintaining departmental records and files; and Providing administrative support to other departments as required.The successful applicant will have completed Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented by courses in office administration and three (3) years of experience within a building inspection, development, or planning department of a local government. This position is a Union position and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement between the District of North Saanich and CUPE Local 374.
