Snow Valley Lodging, Canada?s first Tiny Home hotel, is seeking an experienced, professional and hands-on *Hotel General Manager* to lead our team in Fernie, British Columbia.
Our property offers a distinctive mix of traditional hotel rooms, kitchenettes, Tiny Homes and larger accommodation units. We are committed to providing welcoming, memorable and dependable experiences for every guest.
The successful candidate will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the hotel?s operations. This position requires strong leadership, financial awareness, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple departments in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

*Duties and Responsibilities*
*Hotel Operations and Leadership*
* Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the daily operations of the hotel. * Develop, implement, review and improve operational policies, procedures and service standards. * Coordinate Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations and administrative functions. * Maintain consistent service, cleanliness, safety and presentation standards throughout the property. * Establish operational priorities and ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and on time. * Lead regular departmental and management meetings. * Prepare operational reports and provide updates to ownership. * Identify operational risks, service gaps and opportunities for improvement. * Support hotel operations during emergencies, unexpected absences and periods of high occupancy. * Participate in an after-hours emergency on-call rotation.
*Staffing and Employee Management*
* Recruit, interview, select and onboard employees. * Prepare work schedules based on occupancy, departures, arrivals and operational requirements. * Supervise, train, coach and evaluate employees. * Clearly communicate job duties, workplace expectations and service standards. * Monitor attendance, scheduling, payroll hours, overtime and departmental labour costs. * Conduct performance discussions and provide constructive feedback. * Recognize employee achievements and support professional development. * Address workplace concerns fairly, respectfully and promptly. * Promote teamwork and a positive, inclusive and professional workplace. * Ensure staffing practices comply with applicable employment and workplace requirements.
*Financial Management and Revenue*
* Prepare operating budgets and financial forecasts. * Monitor hotel revenue, expenses, labour costs and departmental performance. * Review occupancy, average daily rate, revenue per available room and booking pace. * Establish and adjust room rates based on demand, seasonality, events, competitor activity and booking trends. * Manage rates and availability across direct-booking channels and online travel agencies. * Review daily, weekly and monthly revenue and performance reports. * Monitor payments, deposits, refunds, chargebacks and outstanding balances. * Reconcile online travel agency reservations, commissions and payouts. * Assist with accounts payable, payroll journal entries and financial documentation. * Review purchasing requirements and control operating expenses. * Protect company assets and maintain accurate financial and operational records.
