About this role

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Electrical and electronic engineering technologies/technicians, other. Electromechanical technology/electromechanical engineering technology. Automation engineer technology/technician. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Wet/damp. Noisy. Dusty. Dangerous. Work setting: Cement processing plant. Tasks: Recommend measures to improve productivity . Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Establish work schedules. Prepare production and other reports. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Set up machines and equipment. Oversee safety of operations. Supervision: 3-4 people. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles.
