Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Industrial equipment and automation manufacturing. Tasks: Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures. Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems. Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.
