Tasks: Cut fabric or layers of fabric to specifications. Set up, maintain and make minor repairs to machinery. Cut and prepare fabric, leather and fur samples. Adjust cutting technique to type of fabric and style of garment. Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards. Examine fabric or products for conformity to quality standards. Estimate the amount of material of fabric required to make a product . Type of materials: Velvet. Satin. Type of yarn and fibre: Cotton. Fabric blends. Equipment and machinery experience: Electric fabric knives or cutters. Electric cutting knives. Manual cutting knives. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding.
