About this role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Dusty. Noisy. Odours. Wet/damp. Tasks: Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Weaning. Feed and tend animals. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry. Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops. Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system. Automated systems experience: Automated environmental control equipment. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
