Tasks: Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment. Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Repair cable signals. Test equipment to locate transmission faults. Complete and maintain test and service reports. Determine nature, cause and location of trouble. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets. Determine work assignments. Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access. Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems. Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers. Splice, join and connect wires. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. CPR Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Coaxial line. Fibre optics. Single line. Copper. Aerial and underground cable lines. Cable outlets. Splitters. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel.
