About this role

Monte Package Company (a Bunzl company) is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team in Lakeland, Florida. This is a full-time, in-office position responsible for managing day-to-day customer service, administrative, inventory, and operational support activities.

The ideal candidate will serve as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders while helping ensure the smooth operation of the Lakeland office. This role will assume ownership of many of the daily responsibilities currently handled by the Branch Manager, allowing leadership to focus on business development, key account support, strategic initiatives, and team leadership.

This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly detail-oriented, and enjoys balancing customer service, administrative, and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Order Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.

• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.

• Respond to customer questions regarding products, pricing, inventory availability, shipments, and order status.

• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.

• Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary.

• Maintain strong customer relationships through professional and responsive communication.

Inventory & Operational Support

• Assist with inventory management activities, including monitoring stock levels and identifying replenishment needs.

• Review inventory reports and help ensure inventory accuracy.

• Coordinate inventory transfers and communicate inventory-related updates.

• Support cycle count activities and inventory reconciliation efforts.

• Generate reports and assist with operational problem-solving.

Administrative Assistant duties

• Manage incoming calls, correspondence, and visitor interactions.

• Maintain customer records and system data accuracy.

• Create, organize, and maintain operational and administrative documentation.

• Support billing, invoicing, and related administrative processes.

• Assist with preparing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed.

• Coordinate office supplies and administrative needs for the Lakeland location.

Team & Branch Support

• Provide day-to-day support to branch leadership and team members.

• Assist with tracking customer requests, follow-ups, and open issues.

• Help coordinate communication between sales, customer service, warehouse, and management teams.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years of customer service, office administration, inside sales support, or related experience.

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred

• Experience working in distribution, packaging, industrial products, or a related industry.

• Experience with inventory management and order processing systems.

• ERP or CRM system experience.

• Associate's or bachelor's degree.
