About this role
Winpak Films is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their Finance team based out of Senoia, Georgia.
In this role, you will oversee and continuously improve cost accounting processes supporting flexible film production and conversion operations. You will analyze manufacturing costs, develop cost models, support pricing and business decisions, and maintain accurate fixed asset records. Reporting to the Controller, you will collaborate closely with operations, technical, sales, maintenance, project management, and accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the standard costing system and recommend improvements to costing processes, systems, and practices.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs, including material, labor, manufacturing, warehouse, and other expenses.
• Develop dynamic cost models and perform what-if analyses to evaluate the impact of changes in resin, scrap, labor, packaging, transportation, product structures, raw materials, and manufacturing methods.
• Review daily gross margin reports, investigate abnormalities, and provide cost and profitability insights to management.
• Partner with operations and other departments to identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, manage costs, and support competitive product pricing.
• Collect, analyze, and present cost results, recommendations, and improvement opportunities to upper management.
• Reconcile fixed asset activity to the general ledger and work with project management, operations, maintenance, and accounting to ensure capital assets are accurately recorded, classified, tagged, and tracked.
• Prepare fixed asset and depreciation reports and support month-end, quarter-end, year-end close activities, reporting, and audits.
• Observe quarterly maintenance spare parts inventory counts and complete ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive financial or analytical experience, preferably in a manufacturing or logistics/distribution environment.
• Experience with an enterprise resource planning system and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to analyze data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information to employees and management.
• Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, particularly production or conversion operations.
• Experience with standard costing, manufacturing cost analysis, fixed assets, and variance analysis.
• Experience developing financial models and conducting what-if or scenario analyses.

• This is a full-time position based at the Winpak Films facility in Senoia, Georgia.
• This position is 100% onsite.
