About this role
An A/R Lead for Four Winds Health is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Revenue Cycle for our Urgent Care Centers.
Lead Responsibilities (25% Time)
• Provide training as needed for new hires and re-training for existing team members to include but not limited to new processes and process improvement
• Provide regular real-time feedback to team members (using SMART method) in positive, constructive manner to improve results of team members
• Responsible for proactive identification of trends as well as recommendations to mitigate denials or delayed payments
• Keep team informed of performance via knowledge and articulation of key metrics
• Responsible for escalations and secondary reviews of accounts that require additional examination
• Foster engaged work environment by sharing information, teaching others and celebrating team wins
Additional Responsibilities (75% Time)
• Billing for our Urgent Care Centers using our internal software
• Identify the need for addition/correction of payer information
• Performing insurance verification
• Working with the Revenue Cycle Management to identify & resolve issues related to billing, coding and the billing system and process flow
• Interfacing with PFS FreshDesk ticketing system to assist in patient outreach resolution
• Daily oversight of clearinghouse and practice software edits
• Knowledge of primary, secondary and third-party payer processes
• All other responsibilities as applicable
Minimum Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience in revenue cycle
• Urgent Care Billing experience is a plus
Required Skills
• Knowledge of insurance payers, insurance verification, the AR/revenue billing lifecycle and appealing denied claims
• Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices
• Excellent Computer skills - expertise in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience in using one or more Practice Management Systems/Billing Software - EPIC preferred
• Must be able to work effectively in a remote environment while staying connected, collaborative and engaged with team members
• Must be able to motivate and inspire team members to meet team goals in a project oriented environment
• Excellent documentation, verbal and written communication skills
• Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to change
• Minimum 40 hour work week - some overtime may be required.
