Join our team as Manager of Sport Venture!
The Manager of Sport Venture provides leadership and resource management in the delivery and implementation of barrier free sporting leagues within the community. The Manager of Sport Venture is responsible for networking and planning with community organizations, sponsors, volunteers, participants, and staff. This position is responsible for facilitating and managing community sports programming and the Sport Venture Library. This position involves ongoing communication and coordination with various partners.
The Manager of Sport Venture collaborates and communicates with the participants, funding agencies, families, community resources, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education and Professional Certification:
• University degree in kinesiology, education, social work, or other related field of study.
Experience:
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in a supervisory role, providing leadership, guidance, support, and development to team members.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience working with at-risk children and/or youth in a community environment.
• Experience coaching and/or working with volunteer groups.

Duties and Responsibilities Services:
• Implement, maintain, and deliver barrier free sporting leagues within the community.
• Responsible for scheduling events and securing facilities.
• Responsible for upkeep and organization of the lending library inventory of equipment
• Responsible for organizing registration for sports and other programs and arrange participant transportation to the programs
• Engage, support, and motivate coaches, volunteers, and program participants.
• Identify recreational needs within the community.
• Work in a collaborative manner with all stakeholders to ensure clear and open communication
• Ensure that all staff are trained to deliver complete services across diverse working environments.
• Evaluate current business processes and systems, develop plans, and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
• Report on success of programs, progress, and participation levels of the various events and programs.
• Ensure the team's documentation in permanent records, working papers, and communications is complete and in compliance with agency standards.
• Manage social media for Ehrlo Sport Venture and work with Communications for Sport Venture Newsletter.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Leadership:
• Manage the Sport Venture team including; recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, and staff discipline.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and team development for all employees, volunteers, and practicum students of the program including: facilitating individual and team meetings; overseeing and providing training and development plans; completing evaluations, reviews, and when applicable, performance improvement plans; participating in employee relations issues and investigations; providing post crisis debriefing; and providing advice and consultation.
• Responsible to ensure direct reports have completed mandatory training.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with the Sport Venture Program team, community partners, funders, and program participants.
• Ensure Sport Venture programs are communicated and shared with Ranch Ehrlo Group Living Services.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met.
Management of Resources:
• Create, maintain, and manage the scheduling of Sport Venture staff, coaches, and volunteers.
• Effective stewardship and authorization of resources of departmental related expenditures.
• Ensure operational budget requirements are met.
• Look for ways to improve processes and/or enhance services and efficiencies within the department.
• Participate in the development of the annual operating plan and budget for the Sport Venture Programs.
• Participate in the successful implementation of initiatives and assigned projects to ensure they are delivered within proposed timeframes and budgets.
• Seek out, maintain, and grow community support and partnerships including donations and funding for programs.
Safety:
• Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
• Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
• Include health and safety in departmental plans with measurable goals and objectives.
• Ensure employees are working in compliance with established safe work practices.
The successful candidate is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines. The successful candidate must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy. Hybrid work arrangements may be available, in alignment with organizational needs and policies.

Salary range: $79,851.20 to $103,209.59 annually (based on 80 hours per 2‑week pay period). Starting salary is dependent on experience.
