Switchboard Operator

Position Details: • Hourly Base Rate: $18.60 - $23.66 • Shift: Days • Shift Hours Per Week: 40 • SEIU Local 49 represented position
Job Summary:
• Under the supervision of the Patient Access Manager/Supervisor, operates the computerized telephone, and PBX switchboard.
• Operates electronic communication system, and hospital information systems.
• Receives and transmits emergency messages for various staff and hospital alarm notices.
• Operates overhead, voice, digital and other paging systems.
• Reports irregularities in equipment operation.
• Performs various clerical duties.
• Gives directions, information and instructions to patients, visitors, hospital staff and others.
• Assists as needed in Patient Registration performing quick registration functions, assist in directing patient and visitor flow.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience handling multi-line telephone. Excellent communication skills.
