About this role
The APEX Power Co. Project in Hubbard, TX, currently under Phase 1 construction, is expected to expand to 1.6 GW. It features a diverse mix of generation technologies, including Siemens SGT-800/400 simple cycle turbines, MAN/Everllence 18V51/60G gas reciprocating engines, GE LM6000/LM2500 simple cycle turbines, Pratt & Whitney FT8 simple cycle turbines, and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling flexible, reliable power output. Future expansion may include additional GE aero and large frame units (6B, 7FA/7FB/7H) in simple or combined cycle configurations, allowing the plant to efficiently meet varying energy demands while supporting data center grid reliability.
Opportunity Summary
The Project Materials & Preservation Manager leads material readiness, preservation, logistics, warehousing, and asset lifecycle activities supporting the construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of the APEX Power Co Project. This role develops and manages programs to ensure equipment and materials are properly received, stored, preserved, tracked, and delivered in alignment with project schedules, Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), and commissioning priorities. Working across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Maintenance, and Commissioning, the position drives material availability, equipment integrity, digital tracking and reporting, and continuous improvement through successful project turnover and ongoing plant operations.
As Project Materials & Preservation Manager, your responsibilities specific to the Pre-Commissioning Phase include:
• Develop and lead equipment preservation programs from receipt and storage through construction, installation, commissioning, and final turnover, establishing requirements based on OEM recommendations, equipment condition, storage needs, and project milestones.
• Coordinate material and equipment readiness across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Logistics, Materials Management, Maintenance, and Commissioning to support project schedules, Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), and startup priorities.
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, inventory control, storage, material movement, preservation, and field delivery while identifying and resolving material, equipment condition, logistics, and preservation risks that could affect construction or commissioning.
• Develop preservation schedules, inspection requirements, resource forecasts, procedures, and digital tracking and reporting systems that provide visibility into material condition, preservation status, inventory, and equipment readiness.
• Coordinate commissioning and turnover activities by ensuring equipment, preservation records, inspection documentation, maintenance history, vendor requirements, and material information are complete and effectively transitioned to Operations and Maintenance.
Your scope of responsibility as the Project Materials & Preservation Manager includes the following primary functions:
• Manage plant materials, warehouse, inventory, and preservation programs to support safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations and maintenance.
• Maintain inventory controls, cycle counts, storage requirements, and material accountability processes to ensure inventory accuracy and availability of critical equipment, parts, and materials.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, vendors, and OEMs on material requirements, critical spares, planned maintenance support, purchasing needs, equipment documentation, and delivery priorities.
• Administer preservation and storage requirements for spare equipment, long-term stored assets, capital spares, and other materials requiring periodic inspection or maintenance.
• Maintain digital systems, records, KPIs, and reporting tools supporting inventory, preservation, equipment condition, material transactions, forecasting, costs, and overall program performance.
• Analyze inventory, material usage, equipment condition, and performance data to identify risks, recurring issues, excess or obsolete inventory, and opportunities for cost and process improvement.
• Maintain procedures, standards, and governance processes while coordinating with plant leadership and NAES Corporate on budgeting, forecasting, procurement planning, inventory optimization, documentation, and audits.
• Lead continuous improvement, training, and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen material availability, asset integrity, inventory optimization, cost control, and plant readiness while fully supporting NAES Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs.
Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, reliable, and compliant plant operations.

Working Relationships
The Project Materials & Preservation Manager reports to the Plant Manager and works with project teams and key stakeholders to support material readiness, preservation, commissioning, and operational readiness.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions.
Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
The Project Materials & Preservation Manager works a standard Monday to Friday day shift schedule. This position will require extended hours, flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed to support plant operations and business needs and may also require callout availability. Depending on the position, on-call status may or may not apply.
Some travel may be involved to participate in Manager, Owner, User Group, or other offsite meetings.
Compensation
This position offers a base pay rate of $90 per hour, along with an annual performance bonus.
Professional Expertise & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, construction management, organizational leadership, business, or a related field is preferred. Relevant industrial, technical, project, or military experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Extensive experience in materials management, equipment preservation, logistics, procurement, or project execution within power generation, LNG, EPC, construction, or a similar heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of equipment preservation and material lifecycle management, including receiving, storage, warehousing, inventory control, transportation, installation, commissioning, and turnover.
• Working knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), material readiness planning, construction sequencing, and coordination of Procurement, Construction, and Installation Work Packages is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop and administer materials, preservation, inventory, and asset readiness programs, including procedures, schedules, inspections, documentation, and performance controls.
• Experience with digital materials, preservation, maintenance, or project management systems, including inventory tracking, reporting, forecasting, KPIs, and data analysis.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Commissioning, OEMs, vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, cost control, and operational readiness.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
