The Coordinator of Surgical Scheduling is responsible for the comprehensive scheduling of procedures at the Surgery Center and assists with obtaining patients' medical record information in a prompt and efficient manner. This position works under the direction of the Surgery Center Business Manager and supports the center's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate scheduling activities.
• Obtain and procure patients' medical record information in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provide front desk coverage and support as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely information to support patient care and surgical center operations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education
• High school education required.
Experience
• Previous medical office and computer experience preferred.
• Familiarity with current medical billing regulations for major insurance carriers preferred.
• At least one year of previous scheduling experience or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
• Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
• Excellent typing and computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage scheduling responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
