Position Description:
The Builds Operator is a vital part of the Builds team. They take raw parts, pieces and other materials and construct the customer's order to their specifications. This individual collaborates with other 80/20 Build Operators when needed and is responsible for the accurate completion of their assigned projects. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Accurate and efficient reading and interpretation of drawing to assemble orders to the customer's specifications
• Assisting with prepping materials for a build (loading fasteners, installing T-slot covers, etc.)
• Building, assembling, and shipping completed project
• Helps with the designing, building, installation, and deliveries of various 80/20 exhibits, demonstration units, and special projects.
• Troubleshoots errors on projects
• Communicates with other departments, customers and distributors when needed
• All other duties as deemed necessary
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Read and understands work instructions, procedures and verbally communicate with other employees.
• Strong math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply) and can understand fraction and decimal conversions.
• Can accurately read a tape measurer and work with various air and hand tools.
• Has or will be able to obtain a forklift license
• Is able to stand, twist, bend, squat, stoop, kneel and lift 40 lbs. on a continuous basis for an 10-hour work day.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2 or more years of experience building small to large projects with hand and mechanical tools in a production or manufacturing environment or previous knowledge/experience building with 80/20 products.
• Superior understanding of 80/20 products, their functionality and purpose.
