About this role

SUMMARY: A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Individual contributor role, reporting directly to Financial Controller

• Support accounting activities including posting and reconciling more complex accounting transactions and accounts, including payroll accruals and quarterly inventory.

• Participate in the monthly and annual close process

• Assist with preparing financial statements for the CFO's presentation to the Finance Committee

• Timely review of Staff Accountant, Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, and Senior Payroll Specialist journal entries and reconciliations

• Contribute to process improvements and strengthening internal controls

• Assist Controller in maintaining documentation of accounting policies and procedures

• Provide support to Financial Business Partners in completing monthly variance analysis at the departmental and organizational level

• Participate in preparation of documentation for annual financial statement audit

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

• Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines and InterMed policies.

• Perform other duties to support the mission, vision and values of InterMed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Education:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required

• License/Certifications:

• Public Accounting or CPA preferred

• Experience:

• 3–6+ years of accounting experience required

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls

• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas and data analysis functions

• Knowledgeable in PowerPoint and financial systems

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The estimated compensation range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation plans above and beyond base compensation.
