About this role
Summary: Responsible for scheduling of patients for all specialty clinics and serves as contact person between specialty physician offices and Crawford County Memorial Hospital.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Schedules specialty clinic appointments with accurate information specific to each specialty clinic. • Communicates any schedule change requests with Specialty Clinic Manager and helps ensure appropriate departments are notified. • Maintains telephone etiquette and confidentiality in all aspects of patient scheduling. • Interacts with specialty physician offices to make them aware of the numbers, names and addresses of patients for upcoming clinics. • Coordinates distributing new patient paperwork. • Coordinates incoming fax orders with Managers to ensure they do go to appropriate ancillary department. • Demonstrates flexibility and adapts to changes caused by physician delays or schedule changes. • Requests patient information from primary care Providers and files appropriately. • Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and CCMH business. • Consistently reports to work at the scheduled time in a punctual manner and at the assigned job location. • Requests patient information from primary care Providers and files appropriately. • Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards. • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Job Requirements: • High school diploma, Required. • Professional phone etiquette and techniques. • Accuracy in data entry to ensure correct billing practices. • Excellent people skills. • Requires judgment to analyze and make decisions.
