How you will create impact:
As part of your internship, you will have the opportunity to work with one of the following three teams:
Corporate Actuarial
• Support regulatory and strategic analyses using actuarial models, various data sources and programming languages.
• Help maintain documentation of key actuarial functions.
• Learn existing actuarial practices and procedures in alignment with emerging trends and best practices in the insurance industry and actuarial landscape.
• Support small to medium sized projects within the team, including developing, following and reporting timelines.
Pricing (Auto and Home)
• Participate in pricing or research projects for one of the business lines;
• Work with various programming languages, modeling software, and databases such as SAS, SQL, R, and other pricing tools;
• Learn government regulations and best practices regarding data handling;
• Produce the necessary statistics and analyses on an ad hoc basis.
• Improve and automate files that enable us to select assumptions.
Pricing (Commercial and Farm Lines)
• Participate in pricing or research projects for one of the business lines;
• Learn government regulations and best practices in data handling;
• Prepare profitability reports (rate indications);
• Improve and automate files enabling us to select hypothesis.
• Work with various programming languages, modeling software and databases such as R, SAS, SQL and other pricing tools.
To join our team:
• You are pursuing a bachelor's degree in actuarial science in at least your second year.
• You are a team player who can adapt to a dynamic environment.
• You have good written and oral communication skills in English and French. The person in this position works mainly with non-French-speaking groups and with teams outside Quebec. Fluency in English is therefore mandatory. Essential tasks requiring knowledge of a language other than French cannot be reassigned to other team members.
• Experience with R, Python and SQL and/or other pricing tools is an asset.

What you need to know:
• You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
