About this role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cost Accounting & Product Costing
• Maintain and update standard costing for all products, including BOM and routing structures
• Perform cost roll-ups and periodic revisions based on raw material, labor, and overhead changes
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, and production variances with actionable insights
• Monitor PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and usage variances
• Support new product costing / tenders / pricing decisions
• Ensure accurate classification and absorption of manufacturing overheads
• Inventory Control & Governance
• Ensure accurate recording and valuation of Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods
• Drive inventory reconciliation between ERP and physical stock on a periodic basis
• Ensure appropriate reconciliation between inventory sub-ledger and GL balances
• Monitor and report slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory
• Prepare and analyze inventory-related journal entries and reconciliations
• Ensure proper accounting and provisioning (e.g., LCM/NRV adjustments)
• Review and validate inventory ageing reports
• Support working capital optimization through inventory reduction initiatives
• Physical Inventory & Cycle Counts
• Design and oversee cycle count procedures and annual stock counts
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and shrinkage
• Ensure adherence to inventory count SOPs and documentation guidelines
• Coordinate with plant and auditors during physical verification exercises
• Financial Reporting & Closing
• Support month-end closing activities related to inventory and cost accounting
• Provide inputs for group reporting and MIS (inventory and cost metrics)
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Business Partnering & Operational Support
• Work closely with plant operations, procurement, and supply chain teams
• Provide insights on:
• Cost reduction opportunities
• Efficiency improvements
• Inventory optimization
• Drive initiatives for lean inventory and operational excellence
• Ensure effective utilization of ERP systems for inventory and costing
• Participate in ERP implementation / enhancements initiatives
• Standardize and document inventory & costing processes across plants
• Automate reports and improve data accuracy and reporting timeliness
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience
• Cost Accountant / CMA / Equivalent Professional Qualification
• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, cost accounting and inventory control in a manufacturing set up
