Lead Project Control Specialist

What you'll be working on…
Cost Controls
• Establish enterprise standards for cost forecasting, performance measurement, contingency management, and executive cost reporting practices.
• Lead portfolio-level cost forecasting reviews and forecast challenge processes.
• Review and challenge project forecasts, assumptions, recovery plans, and contingency requirements.
Schedule Controls
• Establish enterprise standards for schedule development, schedule quality, critical path analysis, recovery planning, and project controls technical assurance practices.
• Lead portfolio-level schedule reviews and schedule quality assessments.
• Perform independent assessments of project controls maturity and effectiveness.
Risk / Forecasting Controls
• Lead enterprise implementation of risk-adjusted forecasting methodologies.
• Establish Monte Carlo analysis standards and confidence-level reporting practices.
• Develop portfolio-level P50, P70, and P90 forecasting methodologies.
• Review project risk assumptions, forecast ranges, contingency requirements, and recovery plans.
Governance, Leadership, and Capability Development
• Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for project controls methodologies and best practices.
• Develop and maintain enterprise project controls procedures and governance frameworks.
• Support executive leadership, steering committees, and capital governance boards.
• Mentor and develop Project Controls Specialists at all levels.
• Evaluate and implement project controls software, reporting tools, and process improvements.
• Provide technical leadership for major capital programs and strategic initiatives.
• Assist the Manager, Project Controls with workforce planning, talent development, and capability assessments.
Depending on organizational need, the Lead Project Controls Specialist may lead cost controls, schedule controls, or risk / forecasting controls capability development while ensuring consistent project controls standards across the enterprise.
Responsible for developing risk-adjusted forecasts and communicating forecast ranges rather than single point estimates through integration of schedule risk analysis, cost risk analysis, contingency management, and Monte Carlo simulation outputs.
Who you are...
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of project controls or related experience
• Standard Drivers' License
• Expert-level Primavera P6 proficiency.
• Extensive forecasting, risk analysis, and performance measurement experience.
• Demonstrated experience conducting and interpreting Monte Carlo analyses.
• Experience supporting large complex capital projects or programs.
• Preferred Experience:
• Utility, regulated infrastructure, transmission pipeline, LNG, or major energy project experience.
• PSP, CCP, EVP, PMI-SP, PMP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience developing enterprise project controls standards and operating models.
