Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Food & Beverage oversees and manages the arena's team and backstage catering as well as venue concession operations including premium clubs/suites, concourse bars, kiosks, stands, and hawking. This role is responsible for inventory control standards, compliance with alcohol service policies, safety, guest service, and employee training and supervision. This hands-on leader is tasked with leading the Hospitality management team to create and deliver a best-in-class quick service culinary experience for fans and customers of Rogers Forum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive strategic and innovative initiatives in Food & Beverage offerings

• Deliver superior customer service, creating best in fan experiences through continuous leadership and coaching of Management and Supervisory teams

• Build, manage, and leverages client relationships and business partnerships (visiting AHL teams as well as Live Nation, AEG, etc.)

• Ensure relevant Corporate Partnership commitments are upheld from a food & beverage standpoint

• Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of nightly food and beverage sales reconciliation and monthly inventory reporting

• Ensure staffing levels are appropriate for projected levels of business within budget parameters

• Proactively monitor all event activity to ensure proper planning and execution for events

• Leverage current trends in the food and beverage industry in order to recommend food and beverage business development strategies

• Develop, implement, and update food and beverage policies and procedures that align with the department's vision

• Deliver superior customer service, creating best in fan experiences through continuous leadership and coaching of food and beverage employees

• Ensure compliance with all related regulations pertaining to health and safety i.e., alcohol serving, safety, and food handling

• Partners with culinary leadership to ensure high standards, cleanliness, and quality.

• Serve as a committed and responsible member of the Abbotsford Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic planning process

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5-7 years of leadership experience in the Food & Beverage industry

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Hospitality, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Strong business acumen with a proven ability to provide insightful industry leading, best in class outcomes to perpetuate growth, driving positive results and aligning with business goals in a related environment

• An inspiring leader who has proven skills rallying a team to achieve its highest potential and then driving it to the next level

• Committed to a high level of quality, with a strong record of streamlining operations and improving service

• Ability to manage in a fast-paced and diverse environment with a focus on providing innovative hospitality and high-quality food and beverage service

• Outstanding fiscal management skills, including financial analysis, budget creation, forecasting, labor and inventory control, and P & L oversight

• A solutions provider committed to a vision of service that will thrill fans and provide an ultimate fan experience, driving customer satisfaction and loyalty

• Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze current business problems and implement recommended solutions.

• Superior interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners

• Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office programs

• As we are an event-based business, it is essential to have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Experience in a high-volume sports and entertainment venue or related environment is an asset
