The Opportunity

The Manager, Marketing and Revenue Partner will report to the Property Manager and will be responsible for planning and executing a targeted, cost-efficient annual marketing plan for the Centre that utilizes marketing funds to increase traffic, increase merchant sales and increase market share within a specific trade area and manage the Specialty Leasing Program to ensure the asset is managed to meet client needs. The Manager, Marketing and Revenue Partne is also responsible for generating revenue from short-term and non-traditional leasing opportunities within a shopping centre. The role focuses on temporary inline retail, kiosks, carts, pop-up shops, seasonal vendors, advertising, and promotional space.

The role is in mall – (5) days a week with an expectation to monitor/visit weeknights

What You Will Do

• Develop and execute annual, short- and long-term marketing strategies aligned with shopping centre goals, traffic, sales, and revenue objectives.

• Plan and manage advertising campaigns, promotional activities, public relations initiatives, merchandising events, and mall activations.

• Build strong relationships with tenants, customers, community partners, and philanthropic organizations to increase engagement and participation.

• Coordinate creative development and marketing communications across agency partners, digital channels, website, and marketing collateral.

• Develop media relations strategies, negotiate media contracts, and manage communications around campaigns and centre events.

• Manage marketing and Specialty Leasing budgets, including forecasting, payables, reporting, variance analysis, and revenue targets.

• Lead Specialty Leasing initiatives, including prospecting, recruiting, negotiating agreements, and leasing kiosks, carts, pop-ups, inline spaces, and seasonal activations.

• Oversee specialty tenants and vendors, ensuring proper setup, operations, insurance, compliance, merchandising standards, and ongoing performance.

• Conduct market research and monitor consumer, business, competitive, and industry trends to identify new opportunities and inform marketing strategies.

• Collaborate with Operations, permanent leasing teams, management, merchants, and external partners on events, sponsorships, special projects, and opportunities to monetize common areas.

Who You Are

Key Qualifications

• Experience in specialty leasing, retail leasing, shopping centre marketing, or related commercial real estate exposure

• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills

• Experience coordinating events, promotions, or experiential activations is considered an asset

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and leasing or property management software platforms

• In larger malls or institutional landlords, Marketing and Specialty Leasing Managers may also oversee media programs, sponsorships, vending, ATMs, and short-term experiential campaigns that enhance customer traffic and centre engagement.

• Candidate must currently hold a valid Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) Real Estate license or be willing to obtain the required license within eight (8) months of employment commencement.
