As a Laborer, you will play a vital role in the loading and unloading of vessels and the movement of cargo throughout our terminal. Responsibilities
• Load and unload various cargoes within vessels and warehouses
• Inspect cables and rigging components of equipment
• Perform minor maintenance and lubrication on equipment and machinery
• Provide directional signals to crane operators (flagging)
• Carry out general rigging tasks
• Maintain cleanliness of decks, warehouses, and ship holds
• Ensure all walking areas are free of trip hazards and dangerous materials
• Clean excess oil and grease from equipment and work areas
• Move cargo throughout the terminal facility
• Fuel equipment as necessary
• Use hand tools such as shovels, sledgehammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers
• Report all incidents according to company protocols
• Support and participate in company safety initiatives
Qualifications
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card required
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at different elevations
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials
