Position Type: Part-Time Location: We’koqma’q Gaming Centre

We’koqma’q Gaming Centre is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. The successful candidate will play an important role in providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, and supporting the daily operations of the Gaming Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers in a welcoming and professional manner.

• Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.

• Assist customers with questions, concerns, and available services.

• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive customer experience.

Cashier Duties

• Process payments using cash, debit, and credit card transactions.

• Accurately make change and balance cash drawers.

• Reconcile daily cash transactions and payouts.

• Assist with opening and closing cash procedures.

Gaming Operations

• Value and validate winning VLT tickets.

• Assist customers with gaming machine inquiries.

• Perform light cleaning and maintenance of gaming machines.

• Clear gaming machines when required.

Inventory & Store Support

• Stock and organize products and displays.

• Ensure shelves are clean, organized, and fully stocked.

• Monitor product expiry dates.

• Maintain fresh coffee and other customer amenities.

Administrative Duties

• Complete required paperwork, reports, and records accurately.

• Record purchases and process applicable discounts and promotions.

• Maintain transaction records in accordance with established procedures.

Security & Safety

• Monitor the facility and assigned areas for theft, vandalism, or safety concerns.

• Follow all workplace policies and procedures.

• Report security issues or incidents to management.

Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with fellow staff members.

• Assist with training new employees when required.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must be 19 years of age or older.

• Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience is considered an asset.

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Basic math skills and cash handling experience.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Dependable, trustworthy, and professional.

• Flexible and willing to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an indoor, climate-controlled gaming centre environment.

• Requires standing for extended periods of time.

• May require lifting and carrying products and supplies up to 50 lbs.

• Flexible availability is required to accommodate varying operating hours.
