About this role

Do you enjoy working hands-on, diagnosing faults, and solving technical challenges? We're looking for a Workshop Technician with an electrical background to support the testing, commissioning, maintenance, and mobilisation of a wide range of Ashtead Technology equipment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Testing and spool all electrical and hydraulic winches.

• Testing and setting up diesel and electrical power packs.

• Leading and completing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including as client demonstrations.

• Conducting pre and post mobilisation inspections.

• Carrying out maintenance, servicing, repairs, and equipment refurbishment.

• Assisting with mechanical maintenance and servicing as required.

• Ensuring equipment certification, calibration, and compliance requirements are maintained.

• Completing inspection reports, FAT documentation, and maintenance records.

• Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment.

What experience you'll bring:

• Electrical qualification.

• Previous electrical experience in a workshop, or technician role.

• Previous experience working with winches and hydraulic power units.

• Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems beneficial.

• Strong practical skills with tools, machinery, and fault finding.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A proactive approach and the ability to meet deadlines.

• Good communication and basic IT skills

• Experience with wire rope spooling, winches, hydraulic power units, and hydraulic systems is beneficial.
