About this role
The Jacket Maker will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.
• Must be able to operate a variety of machinery (including, but not limited to a press, roll form, lock seam, and crimp) to produce a heater jacket.
• Must be able to perform equipment set-ups and die changes as necessary.
• Will be expected to read blue prints and gauge parts. Must use measurement devices such as a tape measure.
• Must be able to work the strip down area and disassemble heaters for salvage.
• Must be able to accurately complete monthly reports and scrap reports.
• Must be able to work with returns and complete proper paperwork as well as coordinate return of parts to material control, boiler and heater departments.
• Must be able to safely operate a lift truck.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
• Work from written or verbal orders.
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
• Observe all departmental safety requirements.
• Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
• May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma/GED. • Must be able to read, write and do simple arithmetic. • The following abilities will be tested: Lift truck. • Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs. • Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs. • Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs. • May be under frequent strain due to body position and unsupported lifting. • Must be able to stand, walk and/or lift repetitively during shift. • Must be able to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull. • Must have vision skills acceptable for a lift truck license and the motor skills/climbing ability to safety board/operate the equipment.
