Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! As a Bar Director, you’re not just supporting the F&B Director in overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s food and beverage operations – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

• Provide leadership support to the Bar management team to drive a positive culture reflective of the hotel culture and values.

• Set the service standards and quality, ensuring that the whole team is maintaining the high standards consistently throughout every service.

• Be knowledgeable of the industry including new openings; industry trends; and events which NoMad should be represented at.

• Responsible for ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are upheld through delegation to bar management and senior members of the team.

• Understand and control costs to ensure the company hits its projected revenue and liquor cost percentage.

• Sound understanding of Bar labor costs and budgeted headcounts to stay within budgeted costs and manage the bar P&L.

• Own beverage strategy across applicable hotel outlets and events, ensuring programming, product selection, service standards, and financial performance align with the NoMad brand and business objectives.

• Drive beverage revenue and profitability through thoughtful programming, pricing, cost controls, forecasting, and ongoing analysis of sales performance and guest preferences.

• Promote inter-departmental communication and relationships between bar, kitchen, dining room staff, and events.

• Oversee and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations

• Review monthly sales of all beverages, collaborating with Brand to identify opportunities to maximize sales.

• Review bar performance against forecast and budget, developing a clear understanding of deviations to the plan and identifying opportunities and risks.

• Ensure adherence to stock control procedures and facilitate the training of this to assistant bar managers, head bartenders and senior bartenders.

• Responsible to check inventory count at the end of the month and communicate with accounting regarding any discrepancies

• Oversee R&D on all menu developments throughout the year, collaborating with the Director of Food & Beverage and applicable corporate Food & Beverage leadership to maximize revenue on each menu.

• Be present at all menu tastings for both food and beverage where applicable

• Lead on-menu costing and pricing strategies to ensure maximum revenue and implement cost control measures where necessary.

• Be the point of contact for planning promotional activities including pop-up bars; global NoMad activations etc.

• Be the lead and connect with brand POCs to procure funds and plan marketing activations within the hotel.

• Assist the execution of photoshoots and any press demands

Four-year college degree is preferred. Experience

• At least five years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience, including significant experience leading high-volume or luxury bar and beverage operations, preferred.

Certifications Food Safety Manager certification and applicable responsible alcohol service certification required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the hotel. CPR certification is preferred.
