EXL is partnering with a leading telecom client to support and evolve its enterprise data platforms. As a Data Engineer, you will ensure the reliability and performance of critical ETL processes, drive platform enhancements, and serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Drive stability, availability, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms through ETL operations, infrastructure support, stakeholder request management, and process optimization. • Monitor daily ETL workflows, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive solutions. • Review technical requirements and code changes, test and deploy enhancements, and coordinate with vendors and upstream teams to incorporate source system changes. • Monitor database and server performance, capacity, and resource utilization, proactively addressing issues and bottlenecks. • Maintain operational documentation and manage client communications, including status updates, stakeholder alignment, and risk escalation
• 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, ETL Development, or a related field. • Strong hands-on SQL skills with experience supporting production ETL workloads. • Proven experience in ETL operations, production support, incident management, and root cause analysis. • Strong understanding of database performance tuning, server resource management, and capacity planning; SQL Server experience is a plus. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage client teams and navigate ambiguity.
