UTHealth School of Dentistry is seeking an experienced Software Developer IV to design, develop, and support modern full-stack applications in a healthcare, research, or other regulated environment. This role requires strong expertise in backend development using Python/FastAPI, Node.js, or similar frameworks, as well as frontend development with React and TypeScript. The ideal candidate will have experience with PostgreSQL, RESTful API design, system integration, and cloud-based application development. Experience integrating Large Language Model (LLM) APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, and building secure, scalable enterprise applications is highly preferred. Position Summary: The Software Developer IV is an expert-level position for highly experienced developers who demonstrate exceptional technical skills. Leads projects, mentors junior and intermediate developers and performs Full-Stack application development and system integration using various programming languages and tools, such as SQL, nosql, Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and APIs. Position Key Accountabilities:

• Coding: Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented code using programming languages such as Java, Python or C++. • Project Management: Manages the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and planning to deployment and maintenance, ensuring projects are delivered on time and according to policy. • Team Mentorship: Provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team. • Problem Solving: Analyzes and troubleshoot technical issues, and propose solutions to address them effectively. • Testing and Collaboration: Works closely with cross-functional teams and participates in testing and debugging to deliver high-quality software solutions. • Documentation: Writes and maintains documentation for code, processes, and project-related information to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team. • Performs other duties as assigned.
