Salary: £78,000 - 78,000 per year
Requirements: Previously worked as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.Valid DV clearance.Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs, DNS and DHCP, and network troubleshooting methodologies.Background in supporting enterprise network environments.Familiarity with one or more networking technologies or vendors, such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, HPE or Fortinet.Understanding of network security principles and good practice.Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, or MPLS, firewall technologies and VPN solutions.Understanding of wireless networking technologies.Background with virtualisation platforms such as VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM, or Proxmox.Knowledge of cloud networking concepts across AWS, Azure or hybrid environments.Familiarity with network automation tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform or similar technologies.Experience working with network monitoring and management platforms such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, LibreNMS or equivalent.Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and modern data centre networking technologies. Responsibilities: Supporting network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls and secure connectivity.Keeping network diagrams, technical documentation and operational procedures up to date.Contributing to capacity planning, performance improvements and network resilience.Supporting virtualised and software-defined networking environments.Assisting with automation and Infrastructure as Code activities where appropriate.For more experienced engineers, taking ownership of technical workstreams, supporting junior colleagues and contributing to network design decisions.Travelling to company premises or other locations when required.Keeping technical knowledge up to date through relevant training and professional development.
