Join our team as a Crisis Response Clinician, where you’ll provide timely, compassionate behavioral health interventions to individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. The goal of this role is to reduce trauma, promote stabilization, connect individuals with appropriate resources, and help prevent unnecessary emergency department visits or psychiatric hospitalizations. As part of the Mobile Crisis Team, you’ll serve individuals within a designated geographic area regardless of age or ability to pay. You’ll assess crisis situations, provide telehealth and in-person interventions, develop safety plans, coordinate care, and connect individuals to ongoing behavioral health and community resources.

Key Responsibilities: ● Triage incoming crisis calls and assess the clinical severity and immediate needs of individuals experiencing a crisis. ● Determine whether a crisis meets the clinical criteria for an in-person mobile crisis response. ● Utilize telehealth technology to assess and support individuals experiencing less acute crisis situations. ● Respond to qualifying in-person crisis situations within sixty (60) minutes of the initial request. ● Complete comprehensive clinical assessments and determine appropriate interventions based on the individual's needs and level of risk. ● Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, stabilization, and emotional support to individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. ● Develop and implement individualized safety plans and reinforce healthy coping strategies. ● Connect individuals to appropriate behavioral health, substance use, medical, and community-based resources. ● Coordinate evaluations with psychiatric and primary care providers when clinically appropriate. ● Follow up with individuals who contact the after-hours crisis line to promote continuity of care and connection to appropriate treatment services. ● Collaborate with Care Coordination teams to ensure individuals receiving crisis services are connected to ongoing care and additional supports. ● Complete risk assessments and safety planning for high-risk individuals participating in the Zero Suicide Pathway. ● Complete weekly Zero Suicide Pathway contacts for individuals assigned to the crisis clinician caseload. ● Monitor client needs and identify when a higher level of care or additional intervention may be necessary. ● Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation of crisis contacts, assessments, interventions, referrals, and follow-up activities. ● Collaborate with internal teams and external community partners to support continuity of care. ● Promote a professional team environment through open communication, collaboration, and recognition of team strengths. ● Participate in required meetings, training, supervision, and professional development activities. ● Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications: ● Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field is required. ● Master's degree in a related behavioral health field is preferred. ● Two (2) years of experience working in a human services or behavioral health-related field is preferred. ● Previous experience providing crisis intervention, behavioral health services, or community-based services is preferred. ● Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges is highly desirable. ● Travel throughout the designated service area is required.

Additional Qualifications: ● Comprehensive knowledge of behavioral health rehabilitation methods, principles, and techniques related to mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment. ● Strong understanding of crisis intervention, de-escalation, stabilization, risk assessment, and safety planning. ● Knowledge of the Zero Suicide Pathway and the ability to apply its components appropriately in clinical practice. ● Ability to assess clinical risk and determine appropriate levels of intervention and care. ● Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations. ● Ability to establish effective therapeutic relationships through telehealth, telephone, and in-person interactions. ● Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation. ● Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, policies, procedures, and clinical documentation. ● Ability to coordinate services and collaborate effectively with internal teams, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders. ● Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate during crisis situations. ● Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability to clinical supervision, agency standards, and established protocols. ● Ability to follow direction and accept supervision. ● Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.

Employment Requirements: ● Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check. ● Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment. ● Completion of all required training, including Relias, at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter. ● Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance. ● Maintain required professional licensure or license eligibility for the applicable location and area of practice. ● Complete all required crisis response, safety, clinical, and program-specific training. ● Maintain knowledge of applicable organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and clinical standards. ● Maintain required documentation and complete all clinical records within established timeframes. ● Ability and willingness to travel throughout the designated geographic service area as required. ● Ability to respond to crisis situations in accordance with program response-time requirements.

Physical Requirements: ADA Consideration – Sedentary Work: This position requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to one-third of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (one-third to two-thirds of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The position requires repetitive movements of the hands, fingers, and arms for typing, writing, clinical documentation, and other computer-related activities. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may require occasional walking or standing for brief periods. Because this is a mobile crisis position, duties may also require travel to community locations and crisis response sites.
