About this role
Lead and manage the accounting and reporting team, oversee the development of policies, procedures and controls, manage financial audits, whilst ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/ IFRS), industry best practices and regulatory requirements and alignment with organization's strategy. Contribute to and influence the development of accounting and reporting strategies that support Aviva's overall objectives, analysing market trends and identifying new opportunities for growth, accountable for identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions to streamline workflows and increase efficiency. Provide oversight of the accounting and reporting processes, including the delivery of financial statements and reports, development and management of budgets, financial modelling, scenario analysis and forecasting to support business decision-making, whilst ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data and analysis.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on complex financial decisions, establish strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, represent the company to external stakeholders including liaising with regulators and external auditors and uphold a high level of visibility in the finance community.
Accountable for effective budgeting, responsible for performance management and team engagement, responsible for setting standards, development, implementation and monitoring of process improvement, work to develop a strong risk culture by promoting risk awareness, training and education at all levels, lead projects beyond the scope of the team.
Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes, industry trends and best practices, assessing their impact to ensure that accounting and reporting practices are appropriately integrated into the organization's risk and finance framework, report on the department's activities to senior management.
