Job summary
We are delighted to offer two part-time posts (0.5 WTE), across two specialist services with an established partnership - for either post individually or combined for a fixed term of one year covering maternity leave. We welcome applications from experienced and newly qualified Clinical Psychologists and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists who are passionate about supporting babies, children, young people and families who have experienced trauma. We are looking for reflective practitioners who value meaningful relationships, working collaboratively, and share our commitment to kindness, inclusion and high-quality care.
The posts are across our specialist Family Intervention and Therapy Service (FITS) within Tameside and Glossop CAMHS, operating in close partnership with Children's Social Care, and our Tameside and Glossop Parent Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS). Within PIMHS, you will be part of a specialist service (formerly the Early Attachment Service) helping parents build healthy relationships with their babies and young children from pregnancy up to age five. Within FITS, you will be an integral part of a team delivering trauma-responsive intervention for local families via professional consultation, training, reflective practice, and therapeutic pathways.
Main duties of the job
Post 1: Parent Infant Mental Health Service
As a highly specialist Clinical Psychologist or Psychotherapist, you will contribute to the delivery and development of the service alongside an experienced, skilled and passionate multidisciplinary team. You will work with infants, young children and their families from a wide range of backgrounds, providing specialist support where there has been early adversity or trauma, while also strengthening our close partnerships. You will have opportunities to further develop your skills in parent-infant mental health assessment, formulation and intervention through a range of training and professional development opportunities. You will provide a formulation-led service for families from conception to age five, delivering specialist assessment and therapeutic interventions. You will also support the wider workforce through consultation, training and supervision, helping to promote understanding of infant and early years mental health across the system.
Post 2: Family Intervention and Therapy Service (FITS)
You will be an integral part of a team delivering trauma-responsive intervention for local families via professional consultation, training, reflective practice, and therapeutic pathways. Working alongside other practitioners, you will facilitate multiagency consultation, develop and deliver training and implement multi-level therapeutic intervention for children and families in contact with Local Authority Children's Services.

The Parent Infant Mental Health Service aims to support parents and carers and your baby/young child to feel safe and secure, to manage the emotional demands of infancy and new parenthood, and to build positive relationships. PIMHS have led the borough in developing integrated perinatal and parentinfant mental health services for parents and children under five and have received wide recognition for good practice and forward thinking from other professionals and services around the country.
The FITS clinical team comprised of mental health professionals, will work in partnership with the Family Intervention Service of Childrens Social Care, while also maintaining strong links with core CAMHS. The aim is to ensure timely access to training, consultation, supervision, and intervention while simultaneously promoting trauma-responsive practice and supporting healthy relationships within our Tameside families.

Education and qualifications Essential
Doctorate level qualification as a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist as recognised by the Association of Child Psychotherapists. AND Full membership of the Association of Child Psychotherapists OR Doctorate level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS or BPS Statement of Equivalence AND Eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychology Status & HCPC registered.

Experience Essential
Experience of working with patient groups presenting high levels of complexity and trauma, including infants, young children and families. Experience in psychotherapy/psychological assessment and therapeutic work with infants and young children and their families/ parents/carers with a full range of presenting problems. Experience of consulting with other professionals in Health, Education, Social Services and Local Authority Experience of representing child psychotherapy /clinical psychology within the context of multidisciplinary and multi-agency treatment and care.
