Main duties of the job
Job Summary The post-holder will work as a General Practitioner within the practice, providing high-quality, patient-centred primary care to registered and temporary patients.
The post-holder will manage a varied clinical caseload, assess and treat patients presenting with a wide range of undifferentiated and established health conditions, and work collaboratively with the wider practice team to ensure safe, effective and evidence-based care.
The post-holder will be expected to undertake the full range of duties normally associated with a GP working in primary care.

We work closely with our PCN, benefiting from a wide range of services and healthcare professionals wrapped around the practice. Clinical Responsibilities
In accordance with the agreed practice timetable, the post-holder will:
Undertake face-to-face, telephone, video and electronic consultations, as appropriate. Conduct home visits where clinically required and agreed within the practice arrangements. Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed and established medical conditions. Make professional and autonomous clinical decisions in relation to patient presentations, including those referred by other members of the healthcare team. Provide appropriate clinical assessment, treatment, follow-up and referral. Develop and review individualised care plans in partnership with patients and in accordance with current evidence-based clinical guidance and practice protocols. Undertake appropriate screening, health promotion and identification of disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Provide appropriate counselling, advice and health education to patients and carers. Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with current legislation, national guidance and the practice prescribing policy/formulary, using generic prescribing where clinically appropriate. Review and authorise repeat prescriptions and deal with medication-related queries within an appropriate timescale. Complete clinical correspondence, referrals, reports, medical forms and other administrative work arising from consultations in a timely manner. Maintain accurate, clear and contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with professional and practice standards. Ensure appropriate coding and recording of clinical information. Participate in clinical audits and other activities designed to monitor and improve the quality of care. Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants, administrative staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Recognise and act appropriately on safeguarding concerns involving children and adults at risk. Escalate urgent or clinically significant concerns appropriately. Undertake any other duties reasonably expected of a GP working within primary care.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
*Experience of working in primary care, with broad clinical knowledge and the ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. *Commitment to safeguarding, clinical governance, patient safety and high-quality, patient-centred care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications Essential
* GMC registration with a licence to practise. * Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List. * Completion of GP Specialty Training (MRCGP or equivalent). * Evidence of appropriate postgraduate training and continuing professional development.
