Job summary
AMU is looking for a compassionate, motivated Healthcare Assistant with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills to join their bright and friendly team.
This unit is part of the Acute Medical Service and led by Acute Physicians
The Acute Medical Unit is a fast paced, acute environment which treats many medical conditions including: cardiac, respiratory, neurology, oncology, mental health and gastro amongst others.
Main duties of the job
To ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient within own sphere of responsibility.
To work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care to the patients.
To act as a positive role model at all times, to wash and dress patients, serve meals and help to feed patients.
To help people to move around, make beds and make patients feel comfortable.
To monitor patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.
