Join Our Friendly GP Practice Team
Broken Cross Surgery is a busy, patient-focused GP practice providing high-quality healthcare to our local community. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and compassionate Receptionist/Administrator to join our dedicated team.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines front-line patient contact with administrative support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive an excellent service while supporting the smooth running of the practice.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Receptionist/Administrator, you duties will include:
Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with patient enquiries efficiently.Book, amend and cancel appointments using the practice clinical system.Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.Scan, file and maintain accurate electronic patient records.Liaise with GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals.Handle confidential patient information in accordance with GDPR and NHS requirements.Support a variety of administrative functions within the practice.

Essential
Has excellent customer service and communication skills.Is confident using computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.Can remain calm and professional when working in a busy environment.Has strong organisational and multitasking abilities.Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy.Works well both independently and as part of a team.Understands the importance of confidentiality.Can provide flexibility to cover additional hours for colleague leave and absence.
Desirable
Previous experience in a GP practice, NHS, healthcare or reception setting.Experience using EMIS Web or other clinical systems.Knowledge of NHS primary care services.Experience handling confidential information.
