We are looking for motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our Trust Bank, supporting our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) and Minor Injury Unit (MIU) services. This flexible bank role offers the opportunity to work shifts on an ad hoc basis across multiple sites, including Lewes UTC, Crowborough MIU and Uckfield MIU, helping us provide high-quality urgent care to our local communities.

As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will work alongside a team of nurses, paramedics, doctors, HCA's and admin to deliver time sensitive, safe, effective and patient-centred care. A full UK driving licence and access to transport are essential due to the requirement to work across different locations.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the clinical teams in the delivery of urgent care services. Assist registered practitioners in the assessment and care of patients by undertaking delegated clinical tasks such as recording vital signs and promptly escalating any changes in the patients condition. Provide wound care, plastering, ECGs and other tasks, maintaining dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times. Communicate effectively with patients, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to accurate documentation and patient records using relevant electronic systems. To be aware of the of the importance o Support patient flow within the units, including observing patients in waiting areas, assisting with the discharge process and ensuring patients and carers are appropriately involved in their care. Maintain a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection prevention and control procedures, health and safety requirements, and Trust policies, reporting risks, incidents and concerns appropriately. Work flexibly across Lewes UTC, Crowborough MIU and Uckfield MIU, add other units and other Trust locations where required, to support service needs. Participate in team meetings, training, audits and service improvement activities, acting as a positive ambassador for the Trust and Bank Workforce.
