We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HCA who is looking to join a team that values innovation, team working and excellent patient care.
Main duties of the job
Candidates must have experience of working in a primary care setting, be familiar with S1 and have experience of a wide range of clinical skills including wound care, ear irrigation and administering vaccines.
About us
Our current team consists of GPs, minor illness ANPs, Clinical Pharmacists and a full Nursing team as well as extended PCN based roles.
We are an active teaching, training and research practice.
The Central Surgery cares for 7500 patients in the Oadby and Wigston area.
We are rated as Good by the CQC.

Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training.
Phlebotomy tasks and the accurate recording and handling of samples.
Taking patients blood pressure and monitoring accurately.
Ear irrigation
H Pylori tests
Obtaining finger prick samples for Warfarin monitoring using INR star
Wound Care
Suture/clip removal
Administering vaccines
Pre diabetic/CHD checks including diabetic foot checks
NHS health checks
Phlebotomy
Spirometry
Chaperoning duties
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of clinical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and data recording
Assisting the Lead Nurse with infection control processes
Clinical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking clinical consulting rooms
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Qualifications Essential
Phlebotomy certification Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of working with the general public Experience of working in a healthcare setting Wound Care / Removal of sutures & staples Patient Health checks inc. height, weight, BP, pulse Ability to record accurate clinical notes Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Strong IT skills Clear, polite telephone manner Effective time management (Planning & Organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Good interpersonal skills Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Polite and confident Flexible and cooperative Motivated Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required High levels of integrity and loyalty Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations Ability to work under pressure / in stressful situations Effectively able to communicate and understand the needs of the patient Commitment to ongoing professional development Effectively utilises resources Punctual and committed to supporting the team effort Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check Occupational Health Clearance
