About this role

Job Purpose Railway infrastructure such as tracks, tunnels and viaducts are inspected and monitored routinely to ensure safe use. Increasingly, the use of inspection technologies such as photo imaging systems, laser and ultrasonic scan systems are used alongside more traditional track visual inspections methods to determine the condition of the infrastructure. Railway buildings and facilities are also equipped with smart environmental control, pump monitoring, and lift control systems. These building conditioning monitoring systems could be OEM proprietary systems or 3rd party solutions. The job of the condition monitoring engineer is to: 1) understand the characteristics of the monitoring system and develop / refine condition thresholds to trigger maintenance actions for the system under their charge 2) be a technology scout to identify industry leading conditionmonitoring technologies to influence and transform maintenance regime. Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of Engineer, Condition Monitoring are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time. Understand the characteristics of the condition monitoring system and interpret acquired data. Have deep domain knowledge of condition monitoring systems so as to be capable of in-depth trend analysis of acquired data for maintenance insights and setting of alert thresholds Provide timely condition monitoring reports with defect severity prioritization to maintenance units so that timely intervention can be carried out to persevere the safe and reliability of the train network Working with the department's operations analysis team to integrate the data stream from the monitoring system into the centralized data warehouse Scout for relevant and proven condition monitoring technologies that can lead to enhance safety and/or reduce maintenance effort Qualifications & Work Experience Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Prior work experience as Maintenance Engineer is a bonus Skills Technical and generic skills include: Strong understanding of mechanical or Electrical engineering Prior knowledge of railway track and/or civil structure will be beneficial Excel and Power BI skills for analysis of data, tracking and visualization of business performance Comfortable with people management Strong planning skills and high on conscientiousness Team player
