About the Role : We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and customer driven team leader to join our Urban Programs team in a full time and permanent role based at our Melbourne CBD head office. This role will lead a team of technical professionals and delivery partners to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of network projects and customer works programs. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage external design and delivery contractors, and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to achieve strategic and operational objectives. As a frontline leader this role combines technical expertise, project delivery excellence, contractor management, and people leadership to drive the successful delivery of major network and customer projects. In addition you will oversee project initiation, design, planning, and delivery activities, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective outcomes for internal and external customers while fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and customer-focused team culture. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop a high-performing design team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement. Deliver electricity network projects and customer works programs safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. Oversee project initiation activities, including scoping, planning, prioritisation, and resource coordination. Manage external contractors and service providers to ensure quality, cost-effective, and compliant delivery outcomes. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams to achieve positive customer and business outcomes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, embedding best-practice design, project delivery, and operational processes. Contribute to the development of asset management strategies, technical standards, and work practices to support network performance. Promote innovation, safety, regulatory compliance, and a customer-focused culture while delivering optimal asset and commercial outcomes. For more information on the role’s responsibilities, please click here to download the position description. To succeed in this role you will have: Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering. Extensive experience within the electricity, utilities, or power industry, particularly in network design, construction, operations, or project delivery. Proven leadership experience managing and developing large, diverse technical teams. Strong project management capabilities with a track record of delivering complex projects and programs safely, on time, and within budget. Detailed knowledge of electricity distribution networks, design requirements, relevant Australian Standards, and industry compliance obligations. Highly developed stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels. Experience managing contractors and external service providers to achieve quality, commercial, and customer outcomes.
